Category: Live from the Ranch
I have been going through my computer after a recent crash to see what was saved and came across this picture. It is from a branding a while ago and has always been one of my favorites.

We have been having a bit of a catch up week after last weeks camp-out. Monday was spent helping a neighbor brand and yesterday Cooper and I rode around a good part of the ranch in search of some of our resident wild cows. We found both of them and returned them to their herds. It was a fun day full of fast riding wild cow trailer loading. Today we began moving a herd of cattle from the eastern range towards the southern end of the ranch. While it is not an incredibly long move, it will have to be done in segments because of the young calves at the sides of the cows. When it is all done, we will end up moving this herd a total of 5ish times. It was a beautiful day and we were pleasantly surprised when we checked our eastern most rain gauge. It read 1 inch. That is huge for us this time of year, especially because we are unusually dry. We will keep our fingers crossed and hope that it keeps on coming.
